well since its been another year, i guess i'll update this thing. so much has happened lately its really quite hard to pick where to start. lets see, i still try to get out hiking whenever i can, but lately i've been spending a lot of time on the weekends with this new fabulous person Tiffany. (seen here on the left) unfortunately, she lives in Indianapolis...a four hour drive :(
that last pic was with her very funny and witty friend Whitney...(who is a 10)..two weekends ago when i cooked everyone dinner. yes, i still like to cook when i can..even sometimes i overcook and burn stuff. after dinner that night Tiff and I drove to Franklin, Indiana to meet up with some friends and go on a ghost walk. this is the first time i've ever heard of a 'ghost walk' before so you know i was pumped. anyways, we stopped at a bar beforehand and i got to meet the locals. as you can tell they were happy about my arrival!
for those, like me, who have never been on a ghost walk its pretty much what youd expect; i was a little surprised at the length of this walk though. we started at a cemetery where our brave leader showed us pictures of ghosts spotted thereabouts then we continued on to some 'suspect' houses. this is one of Tiff's close friends Sarah, who is one of the coolest people amongst us...we bow in her presence!
at one of the haunted houses we got to meet the JCPI..or Johnson County Paranormal Investigators. these guys were not playing around mind you...if there were ghosts, they were gonna snuff 'em out. they had computers, cameras, geiger counters, etc. all set up in professional fashion. i made sure not to think about the Mr Stay Puft marshmallow man!
the walk also went through the back of the town theater where i got this great pic of Tiff and her friend Andi. shes a blast! and nice enough to take some pics of Tiff and I...like the previous one with the ghostbuster! the haunted theater was pretty much the end of the walk..which was good cause my legs were beginning to hurt and i was all ghosted out...so we went to the grill bar.
this is a great picture i think. well except for one thing. over my right shoulder is a colts decal. if you didnt already know, the colts are a gang of ruthless cheaters that reside here in the Indianapolis area. every sunday they put on a display of corruption, thuggery, buffoonery and hubris. sometimes it comes at the hands of a noble and honest competitor like the tennessee titans...who hire nothing but exalted characters such as Albert Haynesworth and PacMan Jones...and quite frankly deserved to win a few weekends back.
having said all that, we hung out at the Grill Bar for quite sometime...despite their taste in NFL pro teams. OK, OK i'll let it go. in this pic we have a group of some lovely and talented females! lets start on the right, shall we...Tiff, Andi, Sarah, and Krista. all really good friends of tiffs and great people. hopefully see you guys this weekend!
ok i tried to be all artistic with this one. yeah, its not. so lets move along and talk about how i met tiff. (this is the part of the story that when she sees this will pick up the phone and call me to say"oh no you didnt") see i work with a really good friend of mine named Staci who is good friends with Tiff....
speaking of which, here is Tiff and Staci from this past weekend when Tiff came down to Nashville. we had just gotten back from this italian restaurant in Franklin, Tennessee...had to add the Tennessee part in there due to the similar name from earlier. anyways, Staci is the person who set me up with Tiff. she didnt immediately go for my stellar looks and grandeur charm...but i worked on it!
so i took her this last weekend to Burgess Falls right outside of cookeville..to one of my favorite spots here in Tennessee. this is a small little park with a couple pretty impressive waterfalls...i've blogged about it before. surprisingly it was quite packed and there was a wedding going on right at the rangers station at the trailhead. yeah, thats where i wanna get married.
the main waterfall at Burgess Falls is at the end of the trail. theres an overlook and a side trail that take you down half way to the bottom..but theres also a man made trail that extends further down to the bottom if youre adventurous. i must say i was impressed with Tiffs willingness to participate! we spent a good deal of time just walking down stream and chasing away snakes.
finally this last Sunday we went to breakfast at the cheesecake factory with my parents. all went well until my mom made a derogatory comment about tiffany...that escalated to a cat fight and the tossing of delicious italian breakfast food at each other. just kidding. it was a splendid time and fun was had by all.
